The Band:
Kat Tyler
New Orleans, Kat's Track by Track: Cutting Room FloorThe track "Cutting Room Floor" is about gossip. It’s about people saying only bad things about others to make themselves feel better. If you were to look at a life as a roll of film, these people would edit the film by cutting out the good things this person has done. Thus leaving those pieces of film on the floor. When you hear “The good things about me are on the cutting room floor”, that’s what I mean. That’s how I felt at the time, that’s why I wrote it. Put You Out of My Misery
"Put You Out of My Misery” is just pure hatred of several people in my life. The
anger is gone now I might add, but it sure felt good to write that song! Do What It Takes / Girls TalkWe decided to put two tracks from the Q.I.D. album. Those songs are “Do What It Takes”, and “Girls Talk”. I would never have moved here, fallen in love and had my beautiful daughter if it wasn’t for that band. Wanna Go Back To New OrleansI fell in love with New Orleans and the song "Wanna Go Back To New Orleans", is pretty much the whole description of my first trip. Even down to an old necklace of beads that dropped at my feet from a tree on Saint Charles Avenue. During the song you will hear my sister speaking the lyrics in French. She translated it all. Katrina hit and I felt the pain and the loss as if I lived there myself. Right now I'm trying to get with "Habitat for Humanity" to see if they will accept some of the proceeds from this CD. She Is The One“She Is The One”, is about any addiction a person has, be it sex, drugs, gambling. Funny how it comes off like a love song huh? Laundry / Friday Night Blues“Laundry“ and “Friday Night Blues” were written by my Hubby Russ. If you want to know about those songs, next time you see him, ask him! Take a Piece of My Heart
Last of all is “Take a Piece of My Heart”. This song is for everyone who would
never let me leave the stage without singing it.
“There are so many people to thank, and they will be as this site and CD become
complete. One person I want to thank most of all is my Mother, Helen Tyler.
Without her, I would’ve never had this voice to share with you. I love you and
I thank you Mom. I also want to thank you, the listener’s of my show and the
listener’s of my songs. Thank you for your support and especially your patience!
